The Lansing Human Relations Commission (LHRC) invites the community to gather for the second annual “Lan-Sing: Music for the Soul,” a free celebration of inspirational music and unity, from 1–5 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at Fox Pointe, 18138 Henry St. Please bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Lansing Community Food Pantry.
This uplifting event showcases the diverse sounds, voices, and spirit of Lansing’s rich cultural fabric through music. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, or take advantage of the picnic tables available under the pavilion. No outside food or beverages will be allowed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

- 1 p.m.: Lana Lewis, Park Forest Christian Science Church
- 1:15 p.m.: Saxophonist Harold Dawson
- 1:35 p.m.: Just for Fun Ukulele Strummers
- 2 p.m.: Illinois State Representative Marcus C. Evans Jr.
- 2:15 p.m.: Contemporary Guitar Group Jesus Shepherd of Souls Parish
- 2:50 p.m.: Pianist Julia Lorenz
- 3:05 p.m.: Laketia and the Five Senses Blues Band
- 3:20 p.m.: Drew & Justin Jazz
- 3:55 p.m.: Re’Unique Live
- 4:15 p.m.: Saxophonist Sherwen Moore
- 4:20 p.m.: The Fitness Fusion Stars
- 4:30 p.m.: Thornton Fractional North Rock Band Flashwopp
- 4:45 p.m.: Children’s Choir District 158
Joy Jones and Sholanda Randle will serve as the mistresses of ceremony.
In addition to live music and dance, family-friendly activities include games, bubbles for the kids, and food vendors. Bottled water will be provided for all guests.
The Lansing Community Food Pantry will be collecting non-perishable food items from attendees who would like to donate. All donations benefit Lansing residents.
